VIDEO DIALOGUE
Hey guys! Today I get to do something a little different. I want to tell you about Creative Mornings.
Once a month creatives get together and share their time with each other and their attention with a speaker, a guest, who is going to inspire, challenge or otherwise provoke thought and engagement in some way or another. It’s unique in Nashville, as I don’t think there’s anything else like it in this town, except for maybe a TEDTalk, but those don’t get quite so specific and they’re not free… but Creative Mornings is not unique to Nashville. It is something that you can visit in many major cities across the US and the world.
I am a huge fan and I think you will be too and I think you should join us this Friday, the 18th of November to see Jessica Davis who founded JL Design in 2005 and is a force in middle Tennessee interior design with a reputation for an innovative design approach…
But wait, did I just say “join us”? Like us? I did. Home Agent Group is sponsoring a new initiative set forth by Creative Mornings Nashville to support local artists, and creative entities that are shaping the landscape and future of creativity in the area. Sounds big? I know. It is a small role in a really cool thing that I/we get to have in a really cool development here in a town where I grew up. This month we get to support Daybreak Arts, which is a crazy cool organization that creates artistic and economic opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in our community.
I want you to know that not only do I sell real estate but I come from a family of creatives. My dad was on the design team with Alan LeQuire to create the flourishes and elements around the shield of the Athena and the ceiling in the Parthenon at Centennial Park, not to mention all the other cool sculptures and paintings he has on display in many places as a professional artist and he’s an art professor to this day. My mom and I sang together when I was young, she taught me to play my first chords on the guitar and I continued down that path to play and sing and meet many of my heroes in the music industry to achieve some of my biggest dreams and goals. And I still play, write, produce and release music, professionally. I just wanted you to know why this is important to me so you know the connection. You know, working in real estate, learning about the investment opportunities and how to guide people through those processes has provided an outlet for me to help likeminded individuals and families in this area in a way that is unique because of my personal background. I get how hard it can be in the daily life of a creative, but also how hard it can be to cross the bridge to make investments like, buying a house.
Anyway – I love what these guys are up to, I think you will too especially if you are a creative. Whether a full time artist, or someone aspiring, this is a network you can and should be a part of. Tickets are free you just register on their website. I hope to see you there.
