It’s Monday. Do you know where you’re having dinner tonight? What about this weekend? If you’re in Old Hickory, you shouldn’t have problems finding somewhere amazing. From the hot chicken Nashville has become famous for to fine dining at its, well, finest, whatever cuisine your tastebuds desire, you can find it at one of these restaurants in Old Hickory.
Granddaddy’s Original Hot Chicken Shack
One thing to know is that this Old Hickory staple is closed on Sundays and Mondays, but you can still get your hot chicken fix from 11am to 8pm the rest of the week. Their menu includes hot chicken items like jumbo tenders, kabobs, wings, and the quintessential hot chicken sandwich. You can even choose the spice level, from plain all the way up to Extra Hot! I recommend trying the Hot Chicken Potato for a delicious twist on a Nashville classic.
The Lucky Rooster
If you’re looking for a place to grab a burger and beer while you watch the game, look no further than The Lucky Rooster. With a kid’s menu, a deck overlooking the lake, motorcycle parking, weekend brunch, and even NFL Sunday Ticket, this burger joint is perfect for everyone. They’re proud to offer discounts to first responders, too!
Flat Tire Diner
With a full menu featuring American, Southwestern, and vegetarian flavors, the Flat Tire Diner is scratch-made dining heaven. They take pride in their chicken nachos, but everything they make is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. My suggestion is to go back multiple times to try one of everything. Maybe even go for some Crunchy French Toast for breakfast before coming back at lunch for Tommy’s Hot Pastrami & Swiss (which comes on a fresh roll baked on-site). Whatever you do, don’t leave without buying one of their amazing pies!
5 Agaves
No restaurant list would be complete without a quality spot for queso and margaritas. No restaurant list of mine, anyway. They’ve got the best Tex-Mex in Old Hickory, from mouthwatering carnitas to cheese-stuffed poblano peppers.
1926 Bar and Grill
Members of the Old Hickory Country Club can indulge in some fine dining after a round of golf or tennis match. Whether you’re in the mood for a high-quality steak or mouthwatering jambalaya, the head chef has you covered.
Whether you live in Old Hickory or are just passing through, any of these restaurants are sure to please. If you are visiting and find yourself wishing you lived here, drop me a message. I’d be happy to help you navigate Old Hickory real estate, and when you close on your dream home, we can celebrate at one of these Old Hickory restaurants!
